Rick Simons
CEO
'Xolv has the right connections, that makes all the difference'
Rick Simons is CEO of Staff Capital. Several brands work together within this umbrella company, including Payroll Select. With that name, Rick started in 2002 as one of the first payroll companies in the Netherlands. His company now offers a total package of innovative HR-tech solutions and is a large, leading player in the flex industry. For credit insurance, Rick has relied on Xolv's expertise for about 10 years.
Rick: "Our clients are SMEs, wholesale companies plus employment agencies and other labour intermediaries. We are active in all sectors and to serve them as effectively as possible, we work within corporate Staff Capital with various brands, including Payroll Select, Easyworx, Easyjobs, Flexplein and RPO Staffing. All with different expertises and specialisms, but with one common goal: to help entrepreneurs grow by organising everything to do with HR as efficiently as possible."
Outsourcing HR tasks
Payrolling has taken off as it offers employers many benefits. Rick: "All concerns and work around recruitment and selection of employees plus full payroll administration can be outsourced to Staff Capital. This allows entrepreneurs and organisations to concentrate on their core business, while they can count on their employees being paid on time, sick and absence notices being handled and taxes and contributions being paid according to the latest laws and regulations."
Clients
Staff Capital has over 1,000 clients in a wide variety of sectors, employing a total of 20,000 workers. Rick: "With such a wide variety of clients, especially in SMEs, your risk management has to be in order. That means you have to be able to switch quickly if necessary. What I like about Xolv is that the lines of communication are short. I can always call, app or e-mail my regular advisor and sparring partner. Over the years, we have really developed a personal bond, which is very pleasant."
'They move quickly and are absolutely proactive'
In addition to Xolv's high level of commitment, Rick points out another essential point. "They not only have the specialist knowledge in-house, but also have the right inside contacts within the network of credit insurers. Xolv helps us get a good picture of our customers' creditworthiness so that we can properly protect our business. Besides the ongoing business, I also regularly ask Xolv for advice, because by now they know our business and industry inside out. Not infrequently, they also advise us proactively. They are very good at that and that is really an important added value for us," says Rick.

Henry Veugelink
Managing director The Bouwmeesters Temporary Employment Group
'Xolv unburdens us, so we can do what we do best'
De Bouwmeesters is a nationwide temporary employment agency for the construction industry. They pair skilled workers, both employed and self-employed, with construction entrepreneurs, who are thus assured of skilled workers on the building site. At the same time, the construction worker is assured of well-paid and honest work. De Bouwmeesters takes care of the administration, payments, collective labour agreement and pension schemes as well as proper certifications. With the takeovere in March 2021 of TMB Bouwservice B.V., the company takes another giant leap forward.
TMB takeover
The Bouwmeesters staffing group has been in existence since 2012. Director Owner Henry Veugelink: "After taking over TMB, we have over 160 construction workers on our file for whom we mediate. As everyone knows, there is a huge shortage of construction workers, while the demand for good skilled workers is only growing. So I usually shout at lunchtime in the office: just close the doors and windows, otherwise we will be trampled underfoot," Henry jokingly adds.
Financing growth
For working capital financing, Henry has been using Xolv since August 2019. "We were able to finance the acquisition of TMB from our own resources, so we did not need financing for that. But after the acquisition, our turnover grew substantially and so did our financing needs. Until then, we always knocked on the bank's door but it, like all banks, applies strict conditions and is not very flexible. So it was time for a specialised broker. Around that time, a mailing from Xolv arrived. That story really appealed to us and that's how the ball started rolling."
Independent advisers
Henry: "Xolv's financial advisers are entrepreneurs just like us, so they think and act from their clients' interests. As independent advisers, they think in terms of solutions, not in terms of selling products. The latter is quite often the case with banks and insurers." Xolv advises De Bouwmeesters not only on working capital financing but also on taking out credit insurance. "After all, such credit insurance is a requirement of factoring companies and other lenders. You pay an interest rate of 6% annually but then have 80% of the outstanding receivable in your account within one or two days. When you withdraw the amount, you then pay another piece of interest. That is perfectly manageable, especially considering the financial risks you are buying off with it."
'Occasionally I call Xolv just to catch up'
Personal click
In the beginning of the cooperation, Henry was naturally in close contact with Xolv, in this case with Fred Soers. Henry: "The accessibility and personal contact is very pleasant to work with. Fred and his colleagues respond quickly and flexibly and think along with you. And they are very accessible: you can just call them on their 06 number, even in the evening if you have a pressing question. You won't be able to do that at a bank. Now that all contracts are settled and running smoothly, those contacts are obviously a little less frequent. But as soon as there is something or you have a question, they respond immediately and come up with a solution quickly. Sometimes I call just for fun and to catch up. You only do that if there really is a click."
