Naomi: "In the 1960s, our company suffered major losses with a German customer, credit insurance was taken out for the first time. That was then with NCM, which later became Atradius. We still have part of our portfolio insured there now, another part is insured with Coface."
No coverage
"In 2019, our policies needed to be renewed. Together with our then credit manager and the then CFO, we decided to explore what was possible and how we could get the best coverage on our customers. We conducted a market survey together with Xolv. Atradius and Coface were able to go with most of our portfolio, but not all customers. Which, by the way, we quite understand, especially in some cases."
Top-Up
"Xolv worked with us to find solutions. If you meet certain conditions, you can get Top-Up cover, if the credit insurer does not grant the full credit limit or sets it lower, you can get additional cover through Top-Up. Credendo turned out to be the right party for us, they sail on the primary insurer, so you can work reasonably independently as an organisation. It is not a third party that also has an opinion on risk. That works very well for us. Credendo has a good relationship with our primary insurers and, with the help of Xolv, we know our way around there as well."
Direct switching
Just as Roba Metals values the relationship, so does Xolv. Naomi agrees: "Our credit managers have daily contact with Xolv, but I can also switch directly with Xolv partner Paul van Uden if the need arises. When it really matters, he is there. Besides, he is just a nice person to work with and so are the office colleagues. They really go the extra mile and we are very satisfied with that."
